Green Glue Noiseproofing Acoustical Sealant
Green Glue Noiseproofing Sealant is perfect for sealing gaps and joints where the wall meets the floor or ceiling, or where two walls meet. It can also be used to fill gaps around electrical outlets, light fixtures, windows, and doors. Green Glue is simple and easy to use and it can be painted over once it has dried, which takes approximately 48 hours. Green Glue Sealant is perfect to use as the finishing touch after installing Green Glue Noiseproofing Compund.
Acoustical sealant should be applied anywhere there is a break in building material to stop sound from traveling through open gaps. The Green Glue Sealant stops noise from leaking through joints, edges and baseplates and can be used on many surfaces such as wood, concrete, glass, drywall, metal and plastic. Adding Green Glue Noiseproofing Sealant to your soundproofing project reduces noise transmission than with Noiseproofing Compound alone. The sealant increases STC (Sound Transmission Class) rating, which is necessary in LEED certified facilities.
Green Glue’s Noiseproofing Acoustical Sealant is a breeze to dispense and has an easy clean-up. It is highly trusted and recommended by builders, architects, contractors and DIY enthusiast.
Application Guidelines:
- Sealing gaps of 5/8” or more with the Sealant is not recommended.
- The sealant is only intended to be an acoustical seal; it is not intended to be a water seal or to be used in exterior applications. Do not use the sealant to seal around pipes or plumbing as it is not recommended.
- After the sealant is applied cover with standard finishing materials such as mudding and taping.
