Trim-Tex Fire Tape® (stock 990) is a mudless, pressure-sensitive drywall joint tape for gypsum-board butt joints in applicable Intertek-listed fire-rated assemblies. The 250-foot roll is built for Level 1 finishes in places like above ceiling grids, shaftways, mechanical rooms, and other concealed areas where the listing allows a tape-only joint treatment.
Key Features
- Installs without joint compound on tightly abutted, clean, dry joints covered by the listing — no mud drying time for the tape-only step.
- Intertek Listed for applicable assemblies tested to ASTM E119 / UL 263 / CAN/ULC S101, with joint-tape compliance to ASTM C474 / C475.
- Supported across Trim-Tex’s published 1-hour, 1½-hour, and 2-hour design listings for walls, floor-ceiling, and roof-ceiling assemblies.
- Use only with the gypsum board, framing, and joint details specified in the applicable assembly listing.
Best For
- Residential or commercial jobs that specify listed fire-rated gypsum assemblies and accept a Level 1 tape finish in concealed areas.
- Crews that want carpenters or hangers to close joints while board is going up, instead of sending a taper back with mud for those listed locations.
What's Included
